There are Christmas presents that get a "oh... cool", and then there are Christmas presents that get a "Oh, cool." Today's treat from the adventuresome team at Canyonz is making you put down the CD vouchers and novelty socks and give a gift that'll truly be remembered.

For just $189, you can get a full day canyoning in one of New Zealand's most beautiful, exciting spots - The Sleeping God Canyon in The Kauaeranga Valley near Thames. You'll descend down waterfalls, abseiling, leaping, sliding and exploring your way to adventure.

About The Sleeping God This is one of the biggest and most exciting adventures in New Zealand. Located near Thames in the dramatic Kauaeranga Valley, this is something unforgettable, and absolutely amazing. There is nothing like this any where! The Sleeping God tour is a vertical descent of over three hundred metres down a steep set of waterfalls involving abseils-rappels of up to 80 metres, exhilarating water slides, and jumps of up to 13 mtrs into deep dark pools guaranteed to thrill. With great guides and small groups. This is the ultimate canyoning expedition; it just doesn't get any better than this! This tour is aimed at people with a real taste of adventure and a good level of fitness (not unfit). This is an all day tour leaving Hamilton at 7am and returning at about 7.30-8.00pm. Big jumps are optional, Abseils-rappels are not. All gear is provided along with expert guides, transport and the occasional bad joke.
